The Perfect Eyeliner

I've tried all kinds of liquid eyeliners. Each and every time I hope it'll be the one that will give me that perfect look I hope for and they I always fail. Every. single. time.

You know what I mean, I always hoped for it to look at least a little like this:

The other night on a usual late night Walmart run with the boyfriend, I stared at the makeup isles for quite some time. I needed my regular powder since mine was out and I knew I needed more eyeliner and almost bought another tube of my usual Almay eyeliner in black-brown since it's never failed me. Then I came across Revlon's Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen. The little brush liquid liners were the ones that I could never get the hang of, but this clearly said pen, so maybe...just maybe...it would really work? I put my faithful Almay back and decided to give the Revlon Pen a chance, doubting my choice all the way to checkout.

When I got home I opened up the new liner and gave it a go. It was so quick, easy, and flawless. I'm sold. I couldn't be happier that I've found a liquid liner that is actually easy to apply. The pen is felt so it's more steady than the little brushes in the usual liquid eyeliners. This stuff is around $7, but when you're buying liner (even in Walmart) that's about average - and totally worth every penny. So if you're looking for a new liner, give this a try! You just might love it!

The Skinny

So I finally went to try on a pair of red skinny jeans like the ones I posted about in Ten Things Tuesday. I'm not a fan of standing out too much and I felt I couldn't stop staring at my legs. Maybe I'll be ready for red skinny jeans in the future but for now I settled for these cute black ones. I still wanted to incorporate red so I added a red cardigan too. This cardigan is the only true red clothing item that I own, I promise - come check my closet! I've just never been a huge fan of the color - but it's growing on me. Plan on seeing me in this outfit a lot, it's so comfortable and easy!

Bows, Bows, Bows!

I made a bunch of bows the other day and here they are! If you're interested in buying one, they are $5 each. I will not be adding these to Etsy this time around but I do still accept Paypal, so orders are welcome! Just send me an email by either using the link at the top of my blog or you can send one to Owlive (at) hotmail (dot) com. Don't forget to include the bow number so I know which ones you want. I can also make matching button earrings for any of these bows, just ask! Earrings are also $5 per pair. Each bow roughly measure 2.5 x 4 inches and include an alligator clip on the back.

This & That

This was my first attempt at cake pops! I thought that since I offered to make them for a 4th of July party that I may want to do a practice batch first. These are chocolate cake mixed with cheesecake and then I coated half in Tiffany blue (one of my favorite colors, of course) icing with pearl sprinkles. The chocolate wouldn't melt all the way for me so I had a hard time getting it to coat them nicely and eventually gave up and started doing just half - but I think they still look cute and yarn to tie the plastic bags on was a cute little touch.

I received one of my Etsy orders in the mail.  I was so so so excited to get these little earrings. I thought they were so adorable online and they were even more magical in person! Fast shipping & not a bad price for handmade earrings! Go check out Wolfbird Studios for more cute stuff!
These are the two sets of earrings I ordered...aren't they cute?!

Phone Photo Dump

I'm sorry for the lack of posts this week. I'm finally back Stateside and couldn't be happier. I was greeted at the airport by my parents and soon after I was surprised by the boy. I was so surprised that my reaction was to hit him, right in the stomach. Oops. Bad girlfriend move, right? Hah. It was a lovely surprise though and he even brought cupcakes. When I got back to the house I was surprised with more presents like the super adorable, and sometimes creepy, blythe doll I've been begging for. She still needs a name. Richard brought me an owl spoon ring that is so cute and fitting since I've been looking for a spoon ring for a while.

I'm glad to be home with my family and puppies. The trip weighed pretty heavily on me and it just now catching up to me so these past few days I've been kind of off but I'm working on forgiving and moving forward. Good things are in my future. I just need to be more confident in that.

I'll have Sweet Saturday up soon! Maybe I should go ahead and just rename it to something not so day specific...cause I'm obviously already slacking!

Dresses, Dresses, Dresses

Forever 21
All of you that know me, probably know of my dress obsession. I have over 35 dresses in my closet at the moment. I consider that kind of ridiculous. It started as just an obsession with buying dresses, which was even worse considering I didn't actually wear them.
Now, I've been wearing them and can't stop.
Every time I'm browsing online shops, I go straight for the dress section. So here are some of my recent finds that I've fallen for.
Enjoy!

Momma Makeover

My mom is always asking me to pick out clothes for her so tonight Jamie and I forced her to go to Old Navy for a mini-makeover. We didn't want to change her style too much since she likes to be comfortable. She picked out a dark wash pair of jeans and a tan cardigan. She also got two t-shirts that look great with both the jeans and cardie. We though the pink striped shirt added a little pop since she typically goes for a floral or basic shirt. You can't really go wrong with a cardigan or a nice pair of dark wash jeans! All we need now are a few accessories and she'll be good to go! Lookin' good momma!

Sometimes Fashionable

I thought this outfit was too cute so I had Jamie take a picture of me so I could share it with you all. It's not very often that I feel very "fashionable" but I believe this outfit qualifies. Not the most flattering photo of myself but you get the idea. Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!
